Listowel Writers Week

1st to 5th of June 2016

Profile

Listowel Writers’ Week began as a celebration of Kerry towns most prominent writers, such as John B. Keane, Brendan Kennelly and Bryan McMahon and many others. The week-long event is recognised as one of Irelands oldest and leading literary festivals and provides opportunities for writers across Ireland in general to develop their talents and attract new audiences, with literary competitions, workshops and events. It also encapsulates The National Childrens’ Literary Festival.

Client needs

As a prominent international festival, Listowel Writers’ Week needed a professional website to promote their literary competitions, workshops and events. This site needed to be responsive and compliment the social media work being carried out by themselves. Regular updates at specific times of the year, as well as ongoing support at all times, was vital. The ability for users to upload competition entries and pay online was included in 2015.

Testimonial

“Listowel Writers’ Week have worked with SJS Web Design over the past three years to develop and design our website.  During this time we also have developed an online system for entering our competitions online which has improved our service to our customers. We have found Sean and Martina excellent to work with, they have ensured that our website completely supports our festival, they have consistently been at the end of the phone or email when required and always listened and taken on board our ideas and made them happen.  SJS have always been a pleasure to work with, professional, efficient and supportive and excellent value for money. We highly recommend SJS Web Design. Thanks for everything Sean and Martina and we look forward to continuing to work with you in the future.” –  Máire Logue (Festival Manager) Listowel Writers’ Week.
