Kerry Writers Museum asked us to create an Online Exhibition to commemorate the Police Mutiny of 1920 in Listowel.
On the 19th June in 1920 members of the Royal Irish Constabulary Listowel defied the orders of their superior officers to adopt a shoot to kill policy on local community. They decided that were not going to be used in a war against their own people and were prepared to face the consequences. This act was an important event for the future of the Irish Civil War.
