New Site Donated to Ballybunion Sea and Cliff Rescue by SJS Web Design
When the opportunity to create a brand new website for Ballybunion Sea and Cliff Rescue arose, I couldn’t help but jump at the chance. Living about a hundred metres from a waterway they protect and 10 minutes from Ballybunion town, I see first hand the importance of the service that they provide.
Ballybunion Sea and Cliff Rescue has been provide the highest standard search and rescue on the North Kerry / West Limerick Atlantic and River Shannon coast since 1986. It is a completely voluntary service, with all positions completely run by volunteers. These volunteers go out in all weather and sea conditions to help those in need.
Fundraising Website
On initial discussion with the committee, we determined that, due to the ongoing investment in upgrading operating equipment that was required, as well as their large annual running costs, fundraising was the primary requirement of the site. We had to make it simple for donors to donate in a way that suited their particular needs best, such as:
- Simple online Credit / Debit Card donation – using Stripe to handle payments
- Donate via PayPal
- Corporate Donations
- Bank Transfer Details
- Legacy Donation Details
Information and Events
Another priority was to give people information about the organisation:- such as the ongoing costs and investments being made in equipment etc, updates on upcoming community and fundraising events (such as the ever-popular annual Ballybunion Sea Rescue Christmas Day Plunge), ways to volunteer and contact details.
This is a site that was built to the highest spec but will continue to grow with updated information and blog posts with news and events, so I hope you enjoy it now and continue to
